My Studio

I have a studio in the same wing as a painter, photographer, cello maker and jeweller, tucked away in the Salamanca Arts Centre in Hobart, Tasmania.

My studio is a semi-sound proofed space with a warm warehouse feel.  An inclusive place for all. I work with a diverse range of people and ensure that each and every person feels welcome stepping through my door.

I predominantly teach contemporary and musical theatre singing students and do voice work with actors. I teach slowly and meticulously. Vocal health and well-being sit at the forefront of training a voice. My singers and actors work with a wide range of repertoire.

I also work with a large number of songwriters and theatre writers. We work on writing exercises, writing routine, craft, voice, preproduction and do plenty of studio recording. Several of the artists I have mentored have gone off to tour nationwide (a few overseas), been signed to labels and a fair few have been finalists in songwriting comps/awards internationally. I create step by step plans for all of the projects I work on, assisting creatives to realise their goals.

We have visiting voice teachers and guest acting teachers who come in and work individually and in masterclass set ups. I also refer singers to guitar, piano, acting, dancing and dialect teachers. We like to work together with other performance schools here and never feel like we are in competition.

My students regularly audition for (and land) roles in theatre and musical theatre productions, audition for (and land) places at interstate schools, for music scholarships, and films among other opportunities. We encourage songwriters to attend conferences, workshops and to apply for funding for recording albums, to tour and create new works.

Please email me if you are a singer or a writer who would like to have session with me.

I am working on a script/album/creative project but am stuck and don't know how to keep going or what to do with my ideas...
One of my strongest skills is to break down a project into manageable parts, and to help maintain motivation.

I can also assist you with finding grants suitable for your project.
